Gujarati Dal Dhokli Recipe

Ingredients:

For Dal:

For Tadka:

1/2 Cup Split Pigeon Peas (Toovar Dal)

1 Tablespoon Oil

3 Tablespoon Peanuts

1/2 Teaspoon Mustrd Seeds

For Dough:

1/2 Teaspoon Cumin Seeds

1/2 Cup Wheat Flour (Atta)

1 Dry Red Chili, Broken into two Pieces

1/2 Teaspoon Carom Seeds

5-6 Curry Leaves

1 Tablespoon Chickpea Flour (Besan)

3 Teaspoon Lemon Juice

1/4 Teaspoon Turmeric Powder

Almost 3 Teaspoon Sugar

1/2 Teaspoon Red Chili Powder

1/4 Teaspoon Turmeric Powder

A Pinch of Asafetida

1/2 Teaspoon Red Chili Powder

1/2 Teaspoon Red Chili Powder

1/4 Teaspoon Turmeric Powder

A Pinch of Asafetida

1/2 Teaspoon Red Chili Powder

1 Tablespoon Cooking Oil

Direction:

Dal Dhokli Recipe

Put dal in a Pressure Cooker and Take Peanuts in bowl and put it in Pressure Cooker. Boil both till completely cooked. After that grind dal till smooth. Transfer into a pan and heat.

Take whole wheat flour in a bowl. Mix gram flour, salt, turmeric powder, red chilli powder, asafetida and oil properly.

Then add enough water and knead stiff dough. Take a small portion of dough and roll out as thin as possible into a circle shape. Cut into diamond shape. And keep aside.

Heat oil in pan on low flame. Add mustard seeds, cumin seeds, dry red chilies and curry leaves. Allow to crackle it. Then put turmeric powder, red chilli powder and Coriander Powder and stir it.

Transfer this in Dal Mixture. Add Lemon Juice, sugar, boiled peanuts and salt. Mix properly. Cook for 5-7 minutes on medium flame.

After That, Put the diamond strips and let it cook on medium heat. Do not stir too much.

Let it Cook for 5 minutes. Garnish with coriander leaves and serve hot.
